SOMETHING
FOR YOU LINKERS TO CONSIDER
No, we're not referring to the golfers among you. We're
talking to those of you who like to create links to other Excel worksheets. If
you have a worksheet with a lot of links, consider setting Excel to save those
link values so that every time you open the worksheet, Excel doesn't bother to
automatically open all the source worksheets in order to update the links.
1. Choose Tools + Options.
2. Click the Calculation tab.
3. Under Workbook Options, select Save External Link Values.
4. Click OK.
Now when you open this workbook, Excel ASKS you whether you
want to update the links--giving you the option not to if you don't want to.
Having the choice can save time if you know the links don't need updating.
